Now looking like proper ducks

On Thursday January 29th in the middle of the afternoon, the inevitable happened. The two duckks we had looked after for the past ten weeks or so decided to fly away. They headed over the fields and out of sight. We just hoped that they would survive their first night in the open and wondered if we would ever see them again. However, on Friday morning they were spotted walking along the road towards the pond and later we found them. They hadn't quite joined in with the other ducks yet but they were safe and where they should be. By Saturday they seemed to be part of the group but still looked round when I called to them.
We miss them from the pub but it has been a pleasure and a privilege to have raised them from week old chicks into nearly full sized ducks.
